Cindy Garcia Ward

Directing Attorney, Immigration Legal Services, California

Cindy Garcia Ward was born and raised in the Central Valley of California to immigrant domestic and farm-working parents. These experiences propelled her to care about the civil and legal rights of low-income immigrant communities. After graduating from Pomona College, Cindy served in two AmeriCorps programs before attending Stanford Law School with the goal of becoming an immigration attorney. In 2016, she began her career at CARECEN-LA as an Equal Justice Works Emerson Fellow. After 5 years, and before coming to the UFW Foundation, she worked at the USC Gould School of Law Immigration Clinic. Throughout her career, Cindy has worked on affirmative and removal defense cases, unaccompanied minors cases, appeals, and have provided education and outreach in the community.
