UFW Foundation Welcomes Reintroduction of the Dream Act of 2025
Washington, D.C. — The UFW Foundation welcomes the re-introduction of the bipartisan Dream Act of 2025 in the Senate by Sen. Richard Durbin (D- Ill.) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska). This legislation would create a pathway to citizenship for young undocumented immigrants, DACA recipients, immigrant youth, and individuals with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure (DED).
Erica Lomeli Corcoran, UFW Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, said:
“The Dream Act is needed to finally provide long-overdue relief to immigrants who have lived in the U.S. for most of their lives, and who contribute to our communities, economy, and workforce. Creating a pathway to citizenship is common sense policy, and yet, despite all of the contributions that Dreamers have made, Congress has yet to deliver permanent protections. As the DACA program continues to face threats and ICE activity is increasing in cities all over the country, the Dream Act is the bipartisan solution to secure permanent protections for immigrant youth. We urge all members of Congress to act and stand up for the values that define our nation, and to provide a pathway to citizenship for those who know no other home.”
