Daniel Oropeza is a former farm worker who worked from Texas to Florida and settled in Michigan in the early 80’s. He has been involved with his community throughout Southwest Michigan through volunteering for over 30 organizations since 1999.
Daniel is a founder of two volunteer groups in Kalamazoo on Leadership, Opportunity, Volunteer, and Education. He also holds annual events contributing coats to the unhoused in Kalamazoo & annual clothing distributions to Southwest Michigan migrant farm workers.
He has also cohosted a public radio music program at Western Michigan University WMUK (ALMA LATINA) for 10 years.
