Riverside – Celebrating César Chávez Day

Come celebrate César Chávez Day with the UFW Foundation on March 28 at Veterans Memorial Park in Coachella starting at 9 am! It will be a fun and informative event for the whole family.

Activities:

• Community Resources: Come learn about all that the UFW Foundation does, from providing legal services to helping the community, among others. We will also have information sessions to help you understand your rights at work, especially heat safety and labor rights.
• Other Organizations: Come meet other community organizations that we partner with to help you with whatever you may need.
• Art Gallery Exhibit: We are hosting a special art contest between five local schools in the East Coachella Valley. Students will create artwork showing their recognition and appreciation of César Chávez. The art will be on display for everyone to see!
  • Participating schools: Coachella Valley High School, Desert Mirage High School, Meca Elementary, Oasis Elementary, and César Chávez Elementary.
  • Awards will be given out for most realistic, best overall, and the piece that best expresses their recognition of César Chávez.
• Entertainment: DJ and dancing for everyone who wants to join in!

This is a family-friendly event open to the whole community. We hope everyone who comes and participates takes away something meaningful.
